What is Flying Star Feng Shui?

Flying star is an advance school of Feng Shui that adds in time as an additional factor. So even if you find out the from the eight mansions formula that Kua number says a particular sector is lucky, the flying star formula might point out the contrary. It is important to know which sectors are your personal lucky sector so you can pick one that is compatible with you and benefit from good flying stars.

The theory is, when a home is built it has earth based influences as well as visiting star influences. The stars are elemental energies that are assigned by numbers. Such as 1 for water, 2, 5 and 8 for earth, 3 and 4 for wood, 6 and 7 for metal and 9 for fire. Each sector depending on the time the home was built will have 3 numbers, the facing, earth base, and mountain star. In the Chinese school of medicine and Feng Shui, these elements always correspond the same way. For instance water controls fire, and fire supports earth so on and so forth.

What Are Earth Based Numbers?

When your home is built it has an earth base number for each sector. In the eight mansions formula, even though the home is unique to a certain group of people, it bases it's assumption that the center of the magic square is always 5. But in flying star, each 20 year period has a unique set of numbers. So in the next 20 years if a home is built, the center shifts up one digit. Right now if we were to build a new home, the home's center energy will be 8. Hence the reason why we are in the Period 8. When the center shifts from one number to the next the numbers in the squares shift from one to the next. See example below:

What are Visiting Stars?

Visiting star are the energies that come through your front door. Rather, more accurately, the energies that come through your facing direction.

Once it comes through the front door or facing direction, it then occupies the different sectors in a unique manner. Each sector then has a unique set of a Mountain Star and Facing star (see natal flying star charts). Here's an example:

Now you know how natal Flying Stars(your home's birthchart) works. Also there are annual flying stars where each year a new energy influences each sector accordingly.
