The flying star number #3 brings in hostile arguments and loss of money shortly afterwards. Some Feng Shui books reveal that the meaning of this star also translates to Huo Hai, which translate to calamity and misfortune or "to injure." If you find yourself wasting valuable time arguing over trivial matters check your natal flying star charts to make sure you're not standing on top of the #3 sector. This star has away of wasting your mental health over things that do not matter.
Wasted mental health can lead to a very unproductive life and ailments to come. Thus possibly leading you to give up and seek refuge in idle pursuits. Also note, that by allowing it to influence you and those around you to be argumentative, you further injure you reputation and encourage spiteful gossip. For some lawsuits are likely.
Furthermore, even if you're not a psychopath by nature, if you're under it's influence without correcting it, you will find yourself practically turning into one, and those around you seem to push your buttons easily. If only most therapist knew Feng Shui, they can tell their client to cure the #3 sector and half of the problem is solved!
Speaking of psychopaths, upon closer analysis, a very famous news story about a husband who killed his wife for his mistress happened to have a #3 in his bedroom (see the celebrity section). As you can see this is a very bad room to have a bedroom in especially with married folks. Not that everyone is that extreme, but it's better to be safe then sorry.
On the bright side though its other meaning is "preserved rank/salary". This actually places a bit of discipline on the individual to learn the value of a dollar and forces them to save and invest, which is a key to slow but steady wealth -- more so in the Period 3 and 4 than any other. In the period 8 though it's influence is useable, ultimately, it's untimely so it must be corrected.
You can cure this sector by adding metal, unless it has a #7 or #9 in the mountain, facing or earth base star, if so, use water. There are technicalities too complicated to mention in this article but you might be interested in reading about it in Flying Star
